Seek My Face

I slept but my heart was awake

A sound, my beloved is knocking

He says, “open the door, my Love, my dove, my perfect one

For I have called you to watch and wait

And I have called you not to sleep but to seek My face.”

And I said, “but Lord, it is late, and I am done for the day

How can I leave this place of comfort I have made?

Though my spirit is willing, my flesh is weak.”

But He stirred my heart and it burns within

Yeah, He stirred my heart and it burns within.

Oh I sought Him, but I did not find Him

And if you see him, won’t you tell him that I love Him?

For I’ve realised that I cannot live without Him

And I will go anywhere to find Him

And I will do anything to have Him.

Because I’ve tasted and seen that He is good and now I cannot get enough

And now I see that my life is not my own but it’s He that lives in me

And I will yield my heart

To the One upon the Throne

My love and my friend

I will not let You go

Beloved you are mine, and I am yours

You are my delight, and you are victorious.

Turn away from me, for your eyes they overwhelm me

My love, my dove, my perfect one.

I slept but my heart was awake

A sound, my beloved is knocking

He says, “open the door, my Love, my dove, my perfect one

For I have called you to watch and wait

And I have called you not to sleep but to seek My face.”
